For higher management positions, most of today’s MBA programs are not a helpful education, because their contents are widely irrelevant for management of complex systems. General Management – especially for the complex systems of today’s society - is concerning the contents, something radically different than Business Administration. Master of Business Administration involves fields of speciality. Purpose and content are completely different. This aspect is constantly overlooked and causes enormous confusion and leads a majority into professional aberration. The mistaking of Management and Business Administration is one of the biggest hurdles for executive careers in today’s society.
Nowadays Top Executives have to be able to cope with complexity better than their competitors. They also have to use that complexity to their advantage. Business Administration may therefore remain necessary, but is by far not sufficient.
